Pune, April 13, 2008 (compiled by: MCS): Studies on the economics of beekeeping are rare in India. Recently I came across a paper dealing with this subject. It concerns the beekeeping in the Pithoragarh district of Uttaranchal. The district has the largest number of beekeepers in the state and a majority of them practice migratory beekeeping. Presumably all of them kept Apis mellifera.
