Pune, January 21, 2008 (source: The Indian Express online, December 21, 2007): Beekeepers from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar migrated their bee colonies to the mustard fields in Ganganagar, Alwar, bharatpur, Kota, jaipur and Bikaner in Rajasthan during this winter.

Pune, March 30, 2008 (sources: The Economic Times, Thaindian News and The Hindu, March 2008): Eight research institutions in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu will implement a 3-year network project on “Morphometry and Phytogeography of Honey Bees and Stingless Bees", sanctioned recently by the National Resource Development Board of the Department of Biotechnology.
